Our Wedding

Wow. That was quite an event! W are filled with gratitude and joy for all of our amazing friends and family who lent us their support and helped us celebrate, whether or not you were there in person.

The Story Behind the Drawing...
The image in our invitation was inspired by a lovely animation artist named Yuri Norstein. Janet first saw his work when she was studying at the University of Hull in 1991. While Dave is from Hull, they did not meet there. But the fact that she'd lived there sparked a conversation between them years later, in London, just after Christmas 2013. Even more years later, Yuri Norstein's animation of the old story of the Heron and the Crane would return to spark inspiration for their wedding invitations. We think it is safe to say that, like the Heron and the Crane, no one was actually expecting us to actually get married - yet here we are! You can watch the original animation below.
